- "Ground" is the correct past tense of "grind" when talking about grinding something like coffee or spices.
- "Grinded" is a common mistake when people incorrectly assume it follows a regular pattern similar to "winded."
- Think of "ground" as being related to the ground itself, as if your spices have been knocked down to the ground level, finely pulverized.
